Group Event

Digging to China:  The goal is to dig down as deep in the sand as you can, using a seashell.  The first team to reach water and build a 8” drip castle wins. Each team will be assigned a digging location by the Judge.  One person must dig, the other must make the drip castle.  NO Clumping of Sand!!! *Each Judge will be assigned one hole to time.  A ruler will be placed in the ground next to the intended hole.  Judges will start the timer and keep watch on their hole only!!!  The timer is stopped once the judge sees that the drip castle reaches 8 inches.  All times will be recorded and then the next group may go.

Station #1

Bacci Ball:  The goal is to throw as many balls into the score area. Each team member will have 6 throws scoring as many points as possible.  In the event that any portion of the Ball should be breaking the plane of the line, the ball will be awarded the lesser amount.  Contestants will be throwing into a large field for 1 point, a smaller field for 2 points and an even smaller field for 3 points.  Any balls landing outside of the identified fields will receive 0 points.  After each participant throws, the judges will tally up a total score for each team.

Station #2

Horseshoe Toss: Each member of the team must participate.  The goal is to throw as many points as possible. If the horseshoe lands within a horseshoe length it = 1pt., leaners count for 2 pts., and ringers = 3pts.  Each teammate will receive 6 tosses.

Station #3

Frisbee Fling:  The goal is to throw as many Frisbees through the netted goal as possible. Each team member will be given 12 throws using a Judge approved Frisbee.  Judges will tally the score of both team members for a team total.

Station #4

Mud-Put Relay:  The goal is to make a shot put out of wet/dry sand.  Both teammates will throw and combine their total distance.  The distance is measured starting from the largest clump of sand falling from the put.  Each mud-put must meet the judge’s specifications.  Each athlete will be given two faults before disqualification.  They must shove the mud-put exactly like the shot-put event in Track and Field. Athletes must not throw over or under hand. Violations will be counted as a fault.  Each participant will receive one fault.  If a participant should fault out, their distance will be recorded as 0 ft. 0 inches.  Both distances will be combined for a team total.

Contestants will be welcome to eat lunch while waiting for their next event.  Hoagie platters provided as well as refreshments.

2:30-3:15

Bay Events

Location: 700 Bayview Dr.

3:30PM – 6:30PM

Station #1

Cannonball Run:  This is a timed event. Each teammate must legally execute 4 cannon balls for a total of 8 tag-team style.  One legal cannonball consists of the following; 1) jumping off dock while performing a cannonball (no can-openers please…), 2) swimming to and climbing up ladder, 3) tapping on the top of the piling.   Once this is done, the next teammate may begin their cannonball.  The timer is stopped once the last contestant taps the top of the piling on his/her 4th cannonball.

Station #2

White Trash Horseshoes (PVC golf ball and rope toss): The goal is to score the highest amount of points.  Each team member will be given 6 tosses.  Judges will combine both members’ attempts for a total score.  Point values are as follows: top tier = 3pts, middle tier 2pts, lower tier 1pt.

Station #3

Hackie Sack: Each member will be given four attempts to try and hack as many times as they can with out letting the hackie sack hit the ground.  Judges must count the number of times the hackie sack is hit into the air.  No hands allowed!!!  Judges will combine scores to determine each teams total score.

Station #4

Sector Nine Curling: The goal is to push your teammate who is sitting on a skateboard the furthest distance.  The person sitting on the skateboard may not use their hands or feet. Each team will get 1 push and 1 fault.  Judges will designate an official pushing zone with a fault line.  The pusher must make sure not to have their feet cross the fault line.  If they do, it counts as one fault.  The pushee will sit on the board and glide as far as they can without the use of hands or feet.  If a hand or a foot should hit the ground at any time, the judge will mark their distance at that point.  The pusher has the option to run along side the pushee with a broom and may sweep pebbles away from the skateboard in order to achieve a longer distance.  Each pushee is asked to finish their ride to the right of the road, thus helping the scoring procedure when all is said and done.  Judges will mark the distance from the nose of the skateboard using a carpenter’s square and a piece of chalk.  Judges will mark by team number.

Group Event

No More Brats!!!: This is a timed event.  The goal is for you and your teammate to eat a hotdog as fast as you can without the use of anyone’s hands.  Ex. 1) 1st teammate begins at starting line while other teammate waits and cheers on. 2) The judge will say go and you will run to the hotdog eating table. 3) You begin to eat the dog while keeping your hands behind your back. 4) Once you have eaten your hotdog, you must show the judge a clean tongue.  5) Once the judge say o.k., you must then run to your partner and tag out. 6) The process begins again. 7) Time is stopped when your partner crosses the start/finish line.
